Due to the large amount of films I have on my harddrive, I’ve started writing them and giving brief snippets of reviews. Just for funzies.
With my film reviews, I am attempting to give a short snippet of a review, kind of a no-bullshit way of looking at things. Each review is accompanied by a screenshot from the film that I think defines it.
A quick note about the rating scale:
There is a common misconception regarding the X/10 rating scale. Everyone assumes that 0-5 = suck, and 6-8 = okay, leaving 9-10 = mindfuckingly awesome.
Keep in mind that when I use this scale, 5 is AVERAGE. Which means that the majority of things on a 10 point scale should fall around the 5 range. 6 is a little better than average, but not much. 4 is a little worse than average, but still worth watching. 2 is pretty horrible, in the same way that 8 is fucking amazing, and 10 rarely, if ever, happens.
I also add a SRB rating, which stands for skip, rent, or buy. Skip films should be skipped. Rent films should be rented. Buy films should be bought. Fairly straightforward.
